Crypto markets remain in downward trend

January did not finish out strong at all.

Anyone have any thoughts at this point? I’ve bought each and every dip since last June. This one seems different. Right now I’m holding onto my long-term positions, but I could see selling a few of my coins if another quick rise happens.

What to do?

I bought a little more ETH last week and a little more BTC last night. I’m not sure about altcoins right now though. So many weak projects or outright scams popping up over the last 3 months, and they’ve dragged down the market along with hacks and threatened new regulations everywhere.

We may be drifting down for a while.

Man I’m hoping this rally signals the end of the bear market and a return to growth. A nice slow steady rise that can be sustained would go a long way to restore some confidence.

Anybody see bitcoin back to $20k by end of March?

And going sideways now.

No one can reliably predict what’s next. Obviously hoping for a rise, don’t care if it’s quick or steady. Just give me something to work with.

I did add slightly more BTC and ETH over the last week. Are you buying at this point?

$7500 bitcoin.

$750 ether.

Or not who knows really

I agree. No one can accurately predict market tops, bottoms or direction over the short term. Long term I remain bullish on the entire space. We might see some of the sketchier altcoins fade away.

And maybe enough money will be pulled from the numerous scams so that they shut down. But they’ll all pop up again with any market rise though. The scams need to stop for crypto to gain more mainstream acceptance.

Well we popped through those today. I don’t know whether to buy or just stop looking. I’m not selling though. Bought for the long haul. Like they say, dollar cost averaging works best when you stick to it in down markets. Crypto is new but I’m hoping that sage advice still applies to it.

February isn’t looking too good right now either. It’s only 28 days though. Maybe that will ease the pain. ;)

I`m investing on EtherTrade now, its great opportunity to win money I think. You just need to know if the coins will go up or down and that's it.

What is your opinion ?

It isn't possible to provide an opinion because you have to register to get any information on the service.

For the most part, I don't use any service that requires me to send in my funds for them to invest. I buy and sell my own cryptos. I don't need gimmicks and systems to invest. There are plenty of legit ways to invest in crypto.

OK. It’s starting to look like you hit the numbers pretty close. Prices did dip a little below those levels but only very briefly before bouncing back pretty strong.

Where do we go from here, Great Ancient One?

We should all be posting in the uptrend thread now and not the downward trend thread. Until it flips again.

Big drop last 24 hours. Too bad I don’t have any money on the sidelines to move in. This old man is tapped out.

Unless I cash out the retirement funds.
Don’t do this at home kids, never go all in to one investment type.
Diversify doesn’t mean different cryptos. It means buying completely different investment types.

Gold, stocks, bonds, crypto, real estate, and so on. Always have more than one type in your holdings.

And it flipped again.

Back downward today. Surely the XRP Coinbase rumors weren’t boosting the whole market, right?

Volumes of trades and transactions are dropping into declining prices. I have no idea when things will pick back up.

For me, a bull market means more interest in crypto which means it is easier to get interest in this site.

So c’mon bitcoin $15k again!

Bitcoin $15K or $5k?
