Meanwhile, Dreamr, a social networking application geared towards entrepreneurs, is going for an IEO-STO hybrid and planning a Security Token Exchange Offering (STEO). The sale will be held on crypto exchange IDCM, with ordinary investors able to participate. Strategic advisory firm Pirate Capital, led by Joseph Bar-Katz, prepared the offering under Regulation S, which excludes U.S. residents from participating. Bar-Katz asserts that this provision “should allow for the DRMR Token to be soon available internationally.”

I’m not sure it’s really going to help keep out the dead end projects. The exchanges are still going to release tokens for maximum profit, so their vetting process will be biased by their greed. IEO’s we’ve talked about. Security tokens we haven’t yet covered.

But until the model switches to raising funds with an STO after having at least a beta product up and running, it’s just a repackaged ICO. So you get fractional ownership, but of what? Unless there’s a potential product already in the pipeline, you’re gambling just like in the 2017 ICO frenzy.
