ERC20 Bug exploit allows extra token creation

Multiple exchanges halted deposits and withdrawals of ERC20 tokens today following discovery of a smart contract flaw that can be exploited to allow creation of large numbers of excess tokens.

“a previously unknown vulnerability in the contract that could allows “an attacker to possess a huge amount of tokens by exploiting these vulnerable contracts,” thus allowing for price manipulation.”

Unikrn responded today that their UKG token is unaffected.

Other projects have yet to respond, and the exact number of ERC20 tokens vulnerable to this hack remains unknown at this time.
