Ethereum co-founder's X account becomes victim of SIM-Swap attack

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin recently confirmed that his X account was hacked due to a SIM-Swap attack. On September 12, Buterin revealed that a hacker had gained control of his X account through a SIM-Swap attack, but he successfully managed to restore his account. He mentioned that he learned valuable lessons from this hacking incident about the vulnerability of using a phone number as a reset mechanism for an X account, whether it has 2FA enabled or not. Additionally, Buterin advised users to remove their phone numbers from their X accounts as a precautionary measure. Security remains a critical concern in the crypto space. Latest crypto news
