159K hacking attempts faced by Crypto Exchange Upbit
In the first half of 2023 South Korean
cryptocurrency exchange Upbit has been targeted by hackers on more than 159,000 occasions. This data was shared by Dunamu, the company that operates Upbit. This figure shows an increase of 117% from the first half of 2022 and a huge increase of 1800% from the first half of 2020 at the same time. Dunamu has taken several measures, among which Dunamu has increased the proportion of funds held in the cold wallet of Crypto
Exchange Upbit to 70% to combat the increase in security breach attempts. Upbit has also increased its security measures for funds kept in hot wallets apart from this. Upbit had to face a loss of $42 Million due to a security breach in 2019.
