In Japan, the Ministry of Labor has received a joint request from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and risk companies for the Labor Standards Act to be amended. Apparently, this occurs as a result of the proliferation of digital money and salaries paid in cryptocurrencies, which would end up making unnecessary the idea of withdrawing cash from banks.

This was reported by a Nikkei report, which mentions the National Strategic Special Zone (NSSZ), a government agency that promotes the creation of centers of international economic activities and works with venture companies in Tokyo. As the main entity that requested a change in labor regulations.

Apparently, the Government of Japan raised the possibility of making salary payments through smartphones equipped with a prepaid card function and a virtual wallet. This would only happen in specific areas of the country.

This proposal would benefit foreign workers who live in Japan, whose difficulties to open a bank account in the country result in problems with their salary payments. In addition, a software company called Doreming Holding would have already proposed to the government the creation of software that would allow the payment of salaries in mobile wallets enabled on smartphones.
