opBNB's recommended fees changed due to MetaMask glitch
According to a social media post by the BNB chain, opBNB's recommended fees had increased significantly due to a glitch in MetaMask. Recently it was reported that MetaMask had set the default minimum recommendation value for gas based on the average of all networks. The MetaMask team says that this was the right strategy for other layer-2 networks, but it did not match at all with opBNB. Along with this, the team claimed that opBNB's fees may be much lower than other Layer-1 and Layer-2 networks, due to which the estimate is likely to be wrong. To fix this bug, the BNB chain contacted the
MetaMask team and agreed to update their network's algorithm. Currently the wallet is displaying opBNB network fees correctly.
