SafeWallet, a decentralized cryptocurrency wallet service, will launch a new user identification system based on QR codes to replace private keys and phrases such as passwords, according to a company announcement.

The app, operated by Chinese giant Cheetah Mobile, will use a two-band security system to guarantee users' access to its funds, according to the press release. The first stage will take users to customize and encrypt their QR codes, while the second will ask security questions and predetermined.

According to the company, this system will be much safer than usual passwords, being also easier to use. In particular, the system aims to ensure its users that they will not need to write their passwords on paper, which can easily be lost, stolen or damaged.

SafeWallet believes that the new system can also serve as protection against the risk incurred by users who send their own passwords using their mail or instant messaging platforms that may contain malwares or filter their messages.
