Top Tech Giants Investing in the Metaverse

Several Metaverse Development Companies are investing in the Metaverse, a virtual space where people can interact and engage in various activities.

Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has invested $50 million in joint ventures to expand the metaverse. In 2014, the company also spent $2 billion on Oculus VR. Meta aims to have one billion individuals involved in the virtual world and has launched its first virtual reality headset, the Meta Quest Pro.

Microsoft is focusing on creating workplace metaverse settings, such as Microsoft Mesh. The company has also purchased social VR system AltspaceVR and gaming business Activision to strengthen its entertainment architecture for other metaverse ventures.

Google has attempted to enter the AR/VR market with Google Glass, but the initiative was not successful. However, the company has announced a $39.5 billion venture capital business to finance projects related to the metaverse.

Nvidia has developed the NVIDIA Omniverse Network, a "metaverse-as-a-service" platform that allows software developers and designers to construct and manage virtual world applications.

Epic Games, known for creating the popular game Fortnite, has the necessary facilities for the metaverse with its Unreal engine and MetaHumans data integration modeling tool. The company has also received investments from Kirkbi and Sony Group Corporation, valuing it at $31.5 billion.

Other Metaverse Development Companies working in the metaverse include Animoca Brands, which owns The Sandbox and is working on Otherside, and supports various blockchain gaming initiatives and metaverse businesses.
